Cirque de Navacelles

Description: Start at the village of Navacelles and descend into the cirque, passing by the Vis River and its waterfalls. Hike up to the rim of the cirque for panoramic views before returning.

Distance: Approximately 10 km (6.2 miles) round trip. Difficulty: Moderate.

 

Le cirque du bout du monde

Description: Follow the trail starting at the exit of Saint Guilhem le Desert,  hike till the end of the rocky gorges: the end of the world. Enjoy views of the river and surrounding cliffs.

 Distance: Variable. Difficulty: Easy to Moderate.

Pic Saint-Loup

    Description: Ascend the iconic Pic Saint-Loup, passing through Mediterranean scrubland and rocky terrain. Reach the summit for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

    Distance: Approximately 8 km (5 miles) round trip. Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

 

Montagne de la Séranne

    Description: Hike through oak forests and limestone plateaus to reach the summit of Montagne de la Séranne. Enjoy expansive views of the Hérault Valley and surrounding mountains.

    Distance: Approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) round trip. Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

Cirque de Moureze

    Description: Explore the unique rock formations of Cirque de Moureze, wandering through labyrinthine paths and towering sandstone pillars.

    Distance: Variable, depending on chosen trails. Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

    

Plateau du Larzac

    Description: Discover the vast expanse of the Larzac Plateau, hiking through open grasslands and visiting ancient shepherd's huts known as "caylars."

    Distance: Variable, depending on chosen routes. Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

 

Chemin des Moutons

    Description: Follow the "Sheep's Path" along the cliffs of the Hérault Gorges, enjoying stunning views of the river below. Pass by caves and rock shelters along the way.

    Distance: Approximately 6 km (3.7 miles) round trip. Difficulty: Moderate.

Gorges de la Vis

    Description: Descend into the canyon of Gorges de la Vis, navigating through narrow passages, natural pools, and waterfalls. Requires some scrambling and swimming.

    Distance: Variable, depending on chosen route. Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

 

Les Terrasses du Larzac

    Description: Traverse the terraced vineyards and olive groves of the Larzac region, enjoying views of medieval villages and ancient stone buildings.

    Distance: Variable, depending on chosen paths. Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

 

Mont Aigoual

    Description: Scale the highest peak in the Cévennes National Park, passing through forests and alpine meadows. Reach the summit for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

    Distance: Approximately 14 km (8.7 miles) round trip.  Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.
